Dr. Akiva Berger
Dr. Akiva Berger was born in New York City but was raised in Atlanta, GA along with his four brothers. After experiencing multiple tooth-related traumatic incidents in his youth, he spent significant time as a patient first at his family dentist and later at various dental specialists. Over the years, Dr. Berger became fascinated with the dental profession, and, after shadowing multiple dental practices, decided to make the career his own.
Following his undergraduate studies at Yeshiva University, Dr. Berger attended Columbia University College of Dental Medicine and attained his DDS degree. In order to further sharpen his skills and develop his training, he completed a General Practice Residency at North Shore University Hospital in Long Island, NY. During this time, Dr. Berger was also mentored by his late grandfather who practiced general dentistry for over 50 years in Brooklyn, NY, and to this day he oftentimes recalls advice and guidance he gleaned from him before his passing.
Dr. Berger practiced dentistry in the NY/NJ metro area until he and his wife Gabrielle decided to move to NE Ohio, where he worked in Chagrin Falls before transitioning to Dr. Cheryl Stern’s office here in Beachwood. As Dr. Stern did for almost 40 years, Dr. Berger believes in delivering only the highest quality dentistry while treating patients with the honest care each and every person deserves.
Dr. Berger is a member of several professional organizations including the American Dental Association, the Ohio Dental Association, and the Greater Cleveland Dental Society. He also maintains membership in the Academy of General Dentistry, American Academy for Implant Dentistry, and the Cleveland chapter of the Alpha Omega Dental Society. When not at the office, Dr. Berger keeps busy taking care of his three young daughters Miriam, Abigail, and Naomi, as well as being an active member in his synagogue.
